  • What is WebDriver ?
    • WebDriver is one of the component in Selenium
    • WebDriver is module
    • WebDriver is an API (Application Programming Interface)
  • Architecture of WebDriver
    • Selenium 3 :
      • Selenium Language bindings — JSON Wire Protocol —> Browser drivers — w3c —> Browsers
    • Selenium 4 :
      • Selenium Language bindings — w3c —> Browser drivers — w3c —> Browsers

• Setup and Configure WebDriver in PyCharm

  • Pre-requisites :
    • Python
    • PyCharm
  1. Download browser specific drivers using below links :

  Browser	Download Link
  Chrome	https://chromedriver.chromium.org/downloads
  Edge	https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/webdriver/
  Firefox	https://github.com/mozilla/geckodriver/releases
  Safari	https://webkit.org/blog/6900/webdriver-support-in-safari-10/

  Once you downloaded, extract .zip files then you will see .exe files (they are drivers)

  1. Setup Selenium webdriver
     1. PyCharm —> project settings
     2. Command Prompt : pip install selenium

Test Case :

1. Open Web Browser (Chrome/Firefox/Edge)
2. Open URL https://opensource-demo.orangehrmlive.com/
3. Enter username (Admin)
4. Enter password (admin123)
5. Click on Login
6. Capture title of the home page (Actual title)
7. Verify the title of the page : OrangeHRM (Expected)
8. Close browser

• WebDriver is a module which is available in selenium package.
• Python Default Location :
  • C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python310\Scripts

Assignment :

1. Open Web Browser (Chrome/Firefox/Edge)
2. Open URL https://admin-demo.nopcommerce.com/login
